Ottoman Empire’s Dawn

The foundation of the Ottoman Empire was laid by Osman I towards the end of the 13th century. Initially established as a frontier principality, the Ottoman Beylik emerged under Osman Bey’s leadership in Söğüt and Domaniç. Subsequently, this beylik expanded its territories through the conquest of various regions in Anatolia. During the reign of Murad I, the Ottoman army also became active in the Balkans, achieving significant victories such as the Battle of Kosovo. This expansion marked the Ottoman Empire’s rapid progression from Anatolia to the Balkans, culminating in the conquest of Constantinople in the 15th century and the eventual downfall of the Byzantine Empire. These achievements laid the foundation for the growth and ascension of the Ottoman Empire.
